The illusion of platonic love, where there are limits that you should not overstep, where you realize that if love grows into something physical, all this love will come to an end. From about page 50 until when I stopped, I was having these strong bibliocidal fantasies.

He has been admired or written about by almost every major literary personality of the 20th century, including philosophers such as Pierre Bourdieu. But I forgot to forget it, like that country song. Of course, this is quickly ruined when Frederic decides not to return the favour of favours and hospitality and Deslaruiers lusts after Madame as well. One friend is exchanged for another.
